Posing in front of an Okinawa sign
This week was fun, it started out on Monday with going to the Aquarium at Sentosa which was fantastic because we found a discount coupon at a BreadTalk, and so we got a group to go for cheaper! Blessings everywhere!! And while we were eating lunch before at the ChinaTown hawker center, a lady came up and said, “I’m a member from Toa Payoh and I’d like to pay for your meal”, and dropped some money on our table and then disappeared! It was really really cool because there was going to be one sister who couldn’t get the discount because it’s a two-fer package, and she was in a trio, and we were able to use the money to give her the discount! I love how Heavenly Father just tends to make things work out like that 🙂 .

My favorite things ever were these jelly fish that looked like little bubbles, they were adorable!!! And the sea dragons, which look like floating leaves, were also super cool. 🙂
On Tuesday we had the epic adventure of taking Sister Taputea to the airport. We live a bajillion kilometers from the airport, so we left at 7 to take two buses there. It was exhausting, but totally worth it to send her off. Afterwards, we had district meeting so we just went straight to the stake centre and took 5 minute naps on some tables and chairs, before everybody got there. So basically we spent 4 hours on buses and woke up early. It reminded me a lot of the BYU French Fair and getting up early to go to that, and going on ski trips in 5th grade with my school. Kind of fun, becuase it’s exciting and different, but at the same time tiring.
Going to the airport.
After district meeting we went to a Choa Chu Kang’s member’s house named Sister S for a pre-Deepavali (or Diwali if you’re north Indian) dinner. It was SOOO GOOD! I have missed local food so much!!! At the end her son ended up playing guitar and singing “Nearer My God To Thee
“. It was absolutely beautiful. 🙂
On Wednesday we went with Sister P to her nonmember family’s house for a Deepavali lunch, and when we got up the elevator I started having major deja vu, and when we walked in I HAD BEEN TO THIS HOUSE BEFORE!!! Basically, a few months ago Sister Opatha and I had come there to teach a lesson, and they hadn’t been very interested, even though they were still friendly. It was SO COOL to meet them again, and they even remembered me! So Devi made us a delicious meal and Gopal was able to tell us old family stories, and it was all around a great Deepavali.
Afterwards, later that night, we met L with EC for a fantastic lesson on 1 Nephi 8
! It was so great, I was so happy! The spirit was so strong and she definitely felt it and noticed it. 🙂
On Thursday we did planning, and then later that night we met with an elderly uncle named PT. He was hilarious. He has so many questions, and we finally convinced him that if he would just listen we would be able to answer. 🙂 He has had so many questions for so many years and now we just need to show him that he finally can have answers. 🙂 He’s really cute, and really fun!
On Friday we had an epic service opportunity at a home for the mentally disabled. We went to the daycare and taught them how to make origami butterflies and they were so sweet and you could completely see the light of Christ in them, and how pure and innocent they were! I absolutely loved it!!!
Loves the dog
On Saturday we did some planning, and then went with Sister P to get smoothies/milkshakes. They were delicious and she was the best company! I love her so much, she has so much sass and such a fantastic testimony and such a loving heart! We shared and talked about Joseph Smith and she has such a powerful testimony of him. 🙂 I love this mission.
Afterwards, we went to Subway with A for her birthday and played Jenga and at the end, she really really opened up with how she’d been struggling. She is semi-active and is just struggling with feeling alone. And we were able to testify to her of the love Heavenly Father has for her and how Jesus Christ is there for her. It was so powerful, so bright.
And on Sunday we went to CCK and Clementi wards, so 6 hours of church can! The fantastic Elder and Sister Boyter fed us sandwiches in between the sessions because otherwise we would have been starving by dinner, because CCK ends at 12 and Clementi starts at 1 and we had to pick up L from Buona Vista to help her to church. AND L CAME TO CHURCH!!!
Later that night we had a ‘zone meeting’ for the members in CCK. All of their ward has been divided into zones and the missionaries and ward mission leader hold zone meeting to help teach and motivate and just generally help the members. I am so inspired by these members’ desire and their earnest endeavours for missionary work!! And it’s going to work and it is working and I have faith, and I know that this work is inspired and Heavenly Father is over all of it!!
I love you all, thank you for your support!! Happy Halloween to all of yous, and enjoy your Treating and keep your Tricking to humorous and not devilish!
