Yes, that is a list of various things I’ve eaten or come into contact with this week.
On Monday the plan was to go to East Coast Park, unfortunately we got behind and didn’t have much time to get there so we decided to do a letter-writing-napping party instead! It was super fun! Later that night we went to H and J’s new place and met with J also and it was super sweet, Sister Zhang bore an amazing testimony of prophets and getting a testimony to prayer and had all of them write in her Book of Remembrance. My favorite was from J: “Sorry I didn’t get baptized!” Hopefully someday she will! She’s amazing and honestly you can tell that she’s been touched by the Book of Mormon and church. Hopefully she realizes that this gospel truly brings joy into our lives and will be baptized someday!
On Tuesday we met L so Sister Zhang could say goodbye and went to a frozen yogurt place called Llao Llao’s. It tasted different than American frozen yogurt, I liked it! Later on that night Sister Alfrey came in going, “Sister Zhang I have a present for you!” and came out with durian. Aiyoo….. It made the whole office smell and Sister Zhang was a very happy camper. Durian is her favourite, and the rule is supposed to be no durian in the house! Normally the smell is not bad to me, but unfortunately I was also not feeling well, so I had a blanket over my face during planning. (Yes, it was as hilarious as it sounds 🙂 )
Yummy Yogurt to say good-by to Sister Zhang
Durian is now banned from the apartment because it smells so bad
On Wednesday we met with M for about 10minutes, she’s been sick so that was sad, but it was nice to see her for a bit.Later we went to dinner with a local ward’s member who Sister Zhang knows because Sister Zhang is moving to the other side of the island so won’t be able to see people as easily, and we had frog porridge! I can definitely say that legs are better than the rest of it, the rest is rubbery. So, in summary: When in doubt, go for chicken feet and frog legs and fish cheeks when you have to choose a weird food. Never go for chicken eyes or the rest of frogs or prawn head. ‘Nuff said.
Frog stew, she said it wasn’t too bad, the appendages were the best part.
Being brave and trying frog stew
On Thursday we did transferring. Me and Sister Opatha helped out Sister B in getting her new companion from the airport because she has trouble walking right now until her knees get better. So that was an adventure! Then we worked on getting Sister Opatha all settled in and I am SOOOO EXCITED for this next transfer!!!! it’s going to be EPIC!!!! We made our vision for our area for the next 6-12 weeks and it is just amazing how unified we already are and how ready we both are to make this the best transfer and the best area we can!
Sister Opatha made chicken and broccoli for my girl.
On Friday we did planning, setting everything up, but then Sister Opatha got sick that night and Saturday soooo yeahhhh. BUT Heavenly Father is amazing and did it on days that we were struggling to get appointments, there ‘s always a reason for everything!!
4th of July meal, fajita sandwiches and American flag treat.
Eating yummy food they made.
4th of July American food.
On Sunday church was amazing, unfortunately J couldn’t come because she’s going on holiday. But after church we met with N and practiced singing for a special musical number we are doing. Afterwards we went to the C’s for dinner, and they were able to give us a lot of advice on where to find people.
I know this gospel is true, that everything is for a reason. And I am ever grateful for all of the things I’ve learned and done and experienced. This is the best two years for my life, and I know that I am forever changed in a good way. I have a stronger testimony than ever and I love my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I love you all and pray for your well being!
Chicken satay that was delicious.
More pretty food
So lucky to be companions again.
Beautiful view of the city.
